Momma’s Weekend Out

Jul. 22, 2008 No Comments Posted under: Uncategorized

Since I spent my birthday living at the hospital with Littlest, we had to postpone my birthday plans until this past weekend. How do I celebrate my birthday? Drinks out with friends? Nope. A huge bash at some posh restaurant? Hardly. How about Daddy and I out on the town, dancing and partying up a storm? HA! Nope, I went to Stamp Camp! Yup, Stamp Camp, as in rubber stamping and I was excited too! I met up with friends to go to the Best Rubber Stamp Demostrator Ever’s group stamp camp in the basement of a local grange hall. I had so much fun. I was there from about 10:30 to 2 pm, made about 13 or 14 cards, got lots of ideas, had fun talking and creating (and of course bitterly complaining about the card I was having a horrible time with).

Afterwards Aunty Brat, Favoritist Babysitter’s Mom and I went to downtown Portland to Greek Cusina for lunch. Yummy! I tried some new foods to me. Things like Spanakopita (spinach pie) and Tsatsiki (a yogurt cucumber dip). It was fun. Afterwards we went into Funny Bone, a silly store with cards, canned farts, and various other novelties. Then was back to reality for me. I felt a bit rejuvenated after a day away. For a good part of the day I didn’t even feel guilty about leaving my family.

Here are some pictures of the cards like the ones I made:

This cherry one is the one I had a hard time with, boy did I ever complain!

These are pictures of the sample cards from the class. I haven’t had time to take pictures of the ones I made.  I did a few variations, but not much.
