When good girls stay good
Last night Littlest and I had planned on heading over to Pampered Chef Lady’s house for a gold party. Through a series of circumstances I ended up taking Bug along too. I wasn’t worried because it’s Favoritist Babysitter’s house too and there is a lotta love there.
Once we arrived, the party really started. Both girls behaved marveously. Littlest flirted and charmed everyone. Bug was her silly self, making people laugh and being especially bossy at times. One lady came in the door and Bug went over and pointed at the lady’s feet and said “shoose” and pointed to the shoe basket. She wanted the lady to take off her shoes and sure enough the lady did. Most of the other bossiness involved who was sitting in her chair and that they needed to “get down.” She also told the dogs to “shhhhhh” and “be quiet.” Bug managed to have people read to her, play with puzzles, get her food and even managed to get in with the dogs. At the very end Bug got a little bit cranky and if I had left 15 minutes earlier that wouldn’t have shown.
I have to say I was pretty proud of my girls, they were really good. It could have been totally different, especially with Bug…holy moley it could have been different. I didn’t make any money off of my “gold,” but I had a wonderful glass of sangria, yummy food, a chance to talk to friends and co-wokers without worrying about the girls. They were in excellent hands. Everyone kept asking if Littlest was always happy. Pretty much, except of course when Bug pokes her in the eye or is a bit rough with her.
I thought for a minute we were going to do an impromptu potty training. I came out of the bathroom at the party and Bug said “potty!” I asked her if she had to go potty and she nodded yes. Once we were in the bathroom and I opened the toilet seat, it was a different story. She kept saying “no.” We went through this a couple times and I finally asked her if she wanted to wash her hands and she did. She still was pretty fixated on the potty though.
Once we got home that night, Bug and I were tired, but Littlest was ready to keep partying. I finally just put her in her crib and she bounced up and down and babbled for another 45 minutes. Bug and I just laid down on the bed and let her go. We were partied out.
