That stupid purple dinosaur
Today, in an attempt to preempt evil-doing by others, I allowed my girls to watch about 15 minutes of Barney. Yup, you heard me right. Me allowing my children to watch that stupid purple dinosaur. I am happy to say that, although Bug watched it with rapt attention, she didn’t dance around or sway with the music like she does with Yo Gabba Gabba. I still can’t stand the show and when Barney started singing that “I love you, you love me” crap, I sang “This old man, he played….” very loudly. The only way I like that Barney song, or rather a version of it, was the time I heard it coming from three drunk cowboys at the Pendleton Round-Up. Now that was a good time.
In other news today, I felt Littlest’s first tooth on her bottom gum. A nice jagged little thing.

That’s Bug’s finger in the bottom right of the picture!
Littlest is now 15 pounds 13 oz and 24-1/2 inches long. I’ve heard more than once lately that people think she is getting fat. Holy cow Batman! Do you know how hard we worked to get some fat on that child! She is just where we want her! She had her Synagis and flu shots on Thursday. The poor child. She was happy and babbling one minute and three shots later she was doing that horrible cry that breaks a momma’s heart. I got my flu shot too, but I knew it was coming and it didn’t hurt.
I’ve been working hard on Bug’s room. I rearranged it, added a dresser, transferred all her clothes and just about have it nice and cozy. I need to put up different curtains and pictures, then it will be complete. I have most of Littlest’s stuff put away too. I don’t know when Bug will actually move to the toddler bed though. She loves to get up and down off of it and she was jumping on it. I didn’t teach her that one. She is such a goofy girl. She has been saying more words lately and can name things, like her head, feet, nose, belly button, but when it comes to her ears, she always says eyes. She will call her eyes “eyes” though. We’ll get there. She loves the before bed reading and is now pointing to things and telling me what they are. Littlest grabs the book too much when I read to her, but I think she likes it. I know I do.
Today is the first day we haven’t had to rush off anywhere. Daddy was gone almost all day though. It was so nice not to leave the house. I even read a magazine! The girls were pretty mellow, so it was a really nice peaceful day. Well, that was until Daddy came home and started being stupid. If we had a dog house, he would be sleeping there tonight! Maybe I will torture him by making him watch Barney all the way through! Ha!
