Did you turn your clocks ahead yet?   Don’t forget!

Today was another banner day with Mouse.   When I got there today, I had just missed her getting a bath and her feeding.  She looked so cute with her hair all fuzzy from the bath and she smelled so much better.  Also, this morning she took 20 cc by bottle!   Pod 8 was quiet today, so Mouse and I just sat quietly for a while, then I rocked her a bit and she tolerated it.   Just as I was putting her back in her bassinet she woke up, partly because it was feeding time.   Since the pod was still quiet and Mouse was so alert and seemed to be kinda rooting, the nurse asked me if I wanted to try to breastfeed Mouse.  It never worked with Bug, so I was skeptical, but I went ahead and tried.   Oh my gosh!   Mouse actually showed interest and after a bit opened her mouth wide enough and sucked.  It was amazing.   She would try, then stop, then started sucking again.  After several tries she got tired, so we decided to gavage feed her the rest.    When we put her back in the bassinet, she woke back up and was very alert, so the nurse dipped the binkie in the milk and gave it to her.  It took a try or two and then she latched onto that binkie and started smackin’ away!  She just kept on smackin’ until she went to sleep.   Did I tell you that she uses the same size binkie as Bug does?

It seems like overnight Mouse has become a baby.  I don’t know how to explain it, but before she was so little and so fragile, she was that micro preemie.  Now, even though she is still very tiny, she isn’t so fragile and her look is more baby-like.   It’s seems to have happened overnight.   I wasn’t so afraid to hold and handle her today because she didn’t seem so fragile.  My diaper changes only took 3 hours each.  When we go see her Tuesday, we will be able to give her a bath.

Bug still looks red from her pink eye.  She slept for about two hours today! She hates taking naps.  I think her eyes are getting better though.  Here’s a picture from her doctor’s visit yesterday.  She loves the exam table paper, so we had fun with it.
