BAM! SMACK! POW!

It’s just like in the movies. After a big fight scene and the bad guys have killed other bad guys and after making sure they are dead, the bad guy kicks the dead guy in the head, just out of sheer meanness.  I feel like I’ve just had that final kick to the head.  Nothing makes sense anymore…

On a good note, I forgot to mention that yesterday when I was holding Mouse, I gave her a little sponge bath; I cleaned her face, hands, and hair.   They won’t give her a real bath until about the time she comes home.  Just another little thing that makes me feel more like I’m her mommy and can care for her.   Today they tried her again on the high flow oxygen via nasal cannula.  So far so good.  She has had a few spells, but seems to be doing okay.   Go little girl!

It’s just been one of those days that I don’t know what to else to say.   It HAS to get better at some point and I know I have some really good things in my life, but holy F’n cow, what next.  Maybe I need to be like Earl and write me up a list of all the things I need to correct and then maybe Karma will be my friend.

Happy Valentine’s Day

We had a good Valentine’s day and hope you all did too. Daddy, Bug and I shared cards and Bug got some new Valentine’s pink shoes. Even little Mighty Mouse got a card. Daddy and I will have a nice Valentine’s dinner out later on, today it was all family.

I’m putting in this picture of Bug even though it’s cut off.  If you click on the picture, you can get the full version of her cuteness and see her Valentine’s shoes.

We went to see Mouse today. I am so madly in love with that little girl. I held her for a long time - again.  She was wide awake and looking around, stretching, and yawning. That girl can yawn, shoot, they were big huge yawns. Today when Daddy was talking to her, she would look and look at him and it was done with such intensity - it was absolutely precious. She is still progressing. She is just about to the point where they don’t have to heat her bed up to help regulate her body temperature. She also is doing well on the diuretics and did amazingly well when I held her today. She still has a ways to go, but she is going!

Today we signed up to be part of a research study that studies preemies and macular degeneration and the role lutein and zeaxanthin plays in all of that. All it entails is that they follow Mouse’s eye exams and will take a bit of blood from her when they draw blood for other reasons and from me they took blood, urine and will sample breast milk for about two months or until Mouse goes home. No big deal. It’s kinda like the study they did for DHA, which now almost all baby food has it in it and it’s supposed to help with brain development and eyesight. We get paid a tiny, tiny amount for doing it.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my fans!
